Ben Franklin’s bookish epitaph

I’m still reading about witty old Ben Franklin. In 1727 or ’28 Franklin wrote this amusing epitaph for himself. It was circulated among his friends and published in 1770. However, it wasn’t used on his gravestone when he died in 1790. The actual stone, still visible in philadelphia, featuresĀ a very simple inscription of his name and the year.

Science book spot illustrations

I’m designing and illustrating a kids’ earth science book for Gibbs Smith. Each chapter has a scattering of little spot illustrations. I’ve collected a sampling of them above. The interior is 2 color, so I’m making all the spot art blue.

Each chapter opens up with a half-page illustration, which are a combination of blue and black. You can see more of these on my Dribbble account.

You can see the book cover and some interior spreads on my design:related account.
